CyberDefender is an all-in-one Internet security suite that offers protection from spyware, viruses, spam, phishing and Internet identity theft. The CyberDefender website is constantly updated with the latest threats and automatically updates CyberDefender to keep it ahead of the latest threats.
The program relies on its "earlyNETWORK" engine which the developers claim is the world’s first distributed system for security updates which detects and immunizes PCs against new virus attacks within hours after discovery. It works by making every PC on the CyberDefender network on the lookout for suspicious files and report them immediately to CyberDefender's Early Alert Center.
It also includes a few other essential components including earlySPY which is a spyware removal tool that removes known and unknown spyware and adware that can hijack your PC and steal personal information. This includes earlyVIRUS which is a comprehensive real-time free antivirus software tool that inoculates against viruses in about an hour.
Other self explanatory tools it includes are earlySPAM, earlySCAM, earlyMONITOR and safeSEARCH. It's a little over elaborate and I'm not sure why they had to divide it into so many confusing little components but it seems to work scan fairly well and fast. The problem is that you have to upgrade to the full version to remove them but you can always delete them manually yourself as it tells you the location.
CyberDefender is a passable security suite that's a little heavy on resources and advertising but generally does a solid job of finding dangerous elements.
