Downloading music is a complicated business. There are so many sources, and so few of them are legal. Some people are able to blithely ignore this fact, but others would prefer a more guilt-free way of obtaining their favorite songs.

Radiotracker is an interesting program that allows you to record music from internet radio stations, a way of downloading music that the developers say is completely legal. Radiotracker also offers additional features such as format converting, a wishlist, a podcast function, and even ringtone creation. It goes without saying that you can also listen to the music via the Radiotracker player or export it to your mobile device.

The Radiotracker interface won't be to everyone's liking. It seems crowded, and is not very intuitive. Reading the manual is an absolute must, even for the most basic tasks. Luckily, the help files are fairly complete, and the Radiotracker website also provides a forum for difficult questions. The basic concept is this: you choose a music style or selection of radio stations and start recording. The downloaded (recorded) songs then appear in a window on the right where you can then listen, save or process them.

Any tool that helps you to get free, legal music is an interesting proposal. Radiotracker has ample configuration settings, automatically checks for updates, allows you to ban certain stations, syncs with your music player and uses intelligent filters when saving songs, so you don't get any duds.

Despite all these good points, there's a major 'but' - Radiotracker seems unnecessarily complicated. Although it may be a great program, it takes some serious effort to crack. While some users will be willing to put the work in, many will quickly tire of having to refer to the manual to identify every window and carry out every task - I know I did.

Radiotracker is a great concept, but its functioning is boringly complicated.

We also recommend getting used to Adobe Photoshop's keyboard shortcuts, as they'll save you loads of time and mouse clicks.

Adobe Photoshop is definitely an application for professionals and as such, has quite a steep learning curve. But this long process of learning does have a reward: the more you practice with all the tools, filters and effects included in Adobe Photoshop, the better results you achieve. Also, there is a huge quantity of web resources, tutorials and manuals all over the internet.

Finally, don't forget that Adobe Photoshop CS5 is a powerful application that can get quite heavy on system resources, especially when you start opening more and more high-resolution documents with multiple layers.

Though probably overwhelming for beginners, Adobe Photoshop CS5 is simply a must-have for anyone with an interest in imaging, particularly professional photographers and designers.

Make private folders only visible to you (Free Hide Folder )

It often happens that we have to hide files or folders, especially when working on a shared computer. The most effective way to do it is by using a specific program.

Free Hide Folder is a free application that lets you select a list of folders you would like to keep protected. By clicking the Hide button in the main menu, all the selected folders will magically disappear on your computer. In order to have access to them you will have to pass through the program which has a pre-selected password to enter.

It's all very easy to use and actually effective if you have sensitive files to protect, but I have little issues on the usability side. It's not possible in fact to hide a folder just from the right-click menu; you will always have to pass through the Add function of the program. Again, if you want to see a folder that has been previously hidden, a double click on it in the program's window is not enough; you will have to select the right button in the right-click menu of the application.

The program installs icons in the Start menu, letting other users know you are hiding something, so maybe a combination of keys to launch the application would have been more effective. I suppose you can always delete the Start menu link but then you will not have direct access to your folders.

Free Hide Folder is a useful free tool to protect and hide sensitive folders on your computer. Some usability issues may render slightly annoying using it, but they don't affect its efficiency.
